About CRA

Community Resources of America is proud to be represented by Ms. Eileen Whelan, who serves as our Honorary Spokesperson. Eileen is a meteorologist and on-air personality at WJLA, the ABC network affiliate television station in Washington, D.C. Her efforts and kind words have greatly advanced several of our ongoing projects.

Community Resources of America, CRA, is always seeking to serve. That is our mission! We refer to it as The Open Door. Wherever there is a need or a chance to enhance community life in Northern Virginia, CRA will be there. Some of our recent successes and ongoing projects include:

Delivering Sun Gazette newspapers: This is s accomplished with the help of several disabled residents from the area who serve as interns, and it provides them with a real job, every work day of the month.

The S.A.V.E. Program – Senior Advocacy Volunteer Effort: We pair community-minded citizens with seniors, offering help and companionship.

D.A.D. – Dads Against Drugs: This program has recently morphed from aiding in the fight against illegal drugs to now encompass serious efforts against prescription opioids and other dangerous pharmaceuticals.

• Specific help for individual homeless and mentally ill Arlingtonians.

• Continuing visits to local nursing homes.

• Annual presentations at the Arlington County Fair.

CRA has just embarked on an ambitious program to help local artists show their work while expanding the arts to all those who ride public transportation and even those who just drive by. In conjunction with the Arlington County Board and The P.A.S.S. (Public Art Street Signs) program, CRA will be placing copies of art at 100 Arlington ART Bus poles across the county. We are very excited about this opportunity and want to acquire sponsors for each exhibit. See the P.A.S.S. website

P.A.S.S: Why and where?

• Art to the Arlington community through bus stop poles.

• Contests where artists submit their works with a Grand Prize of $1500.00.

• Communicate the concept.

• Market the program.

• Sell the idea.

• Post a hundred poles with art and a patron of the arts sponsorship sticker.

• Distribute the donations.

P.A.S.S. Beneficiaries?
